As NBC executive indicated at the upfronts, the network is sticking with a traditional fall rollout and not debuting new fall series immediately following its Summer Olympics coverage in August. (NBC will air an original episode of returning comedy Superstore following one night of coverage from the games in Rio.)

As usual, Sunday Night Football will lead the way in early September with a September 8 season premiere that will feature the champion Denver Broncos hosting the Carolina Panthers in a Super Bowl rematch.

Blindspot will kick off its sophomore run on its new night, Wednesday, with a September 14 airing at 10 PM, following the season finale of America’s Got Talent. The thriller drama will move into its challenging new 8 PM berth on the night the following week.

NBC’s only new comedy launching in the fall, Mike Schur’s high-profile The Good Place starring Kristen Bell and Ted Danson, will get an hourlong preview with back-to-back episodes behind the season premiere of The Voice on Monday, September 19, before moving to its regular Thursday 8:30 PM slot behind Superstore later that week.
