Coming off her stint as a writer on AMC’s Revolutionary War drama Turn: Washington’s Spies, LaToya Morgan has signed a two-year overall deal with the network to work on existing series and develop new ones. Under the pact, Morgan will join the staff of AMC’s martial arts drama Into The Badlands, which has been renewed for a second season.

NAACP Image Award nominee Morgan recently has landed several high-profile feature gigs. She was hired to adapt The Two Minute Rule for Original Film and Story Mining & Supply. Morgan has original crime thriller Carried By Six being produced by Barry Josephson, with Olaf de Fleur directing. She most recently closed a deal with The Firm to write a biopic of civil rights icon Angela Davis.

In TV, Morgan also served as a staff writer on Shameless and penned episodes of Complications. She is repped by CAA, Echo Lake Entertainment, and Eclipse Law.
