The Television Academy is out with the individual winners for its 68th Los Angeles Area Emmy Awards, and nearly half of them are first-timers. Alongside such wily veterans of the local Emmy wars as NBC4 sports stalwart Fred Roggin and 20-year L.A. Kings director Mike Hassan are five trophy newbies: producer Matthew Glasser, reporter Peter Daut, director Leysser Parada, writer Shawn Kopelakis and videographer David Strumpf.

Fox Sports West/Prime Ticket and NBC4 tied with Spanish-language broadcasters KMEX and KVEA for most LA Emmys with two each. The hardware will be handed out July 23 during a ceremony at the TV Academy’s new Saban Media Center in North Hollywood.
