Amy Hargreaves (Homeland) is set as a series regular in Netflix‘s 13 Reasons Why, from producers Selena Gomez and Diana Son, writer Brian Yorkey, director Tom McCarthy, Anonymous Content and Paramount TV. Based on the bestselling 2007 YA book by Jay Asher, the series follows Clay (Dylan Minnette) through an emotional night when he receives a shoebox of cassette tapes from his late classmate and crush Hannah (Katherine Langford), after she recently committed suicide. Hargreaves will play Mrs. Jensen, Clay’s mother. She’s bright, involved, compassionate and concerned — or, as Clay calls it, “helicopter parenting.” An accomplished, fair-minded lawyer, Mrs. Jensen is less objective where her son is concerned. Repped by Stone Manners Salners Agency and Smith Talent Group, Hargreaves next appears opposite Julianne Moore and Michelle Williams in Todd Haynes’ feature, Wonderstruck.

Six Feet Under alumna Frances Conroy has booked a lead role Spike’s new scripted drama series The Mist, based on the Stephen King novella, from TWC-Dimension Television. The 10-episode series tells a harrowing story about a seemingly innocuous mist that seeps into a small town and creates immense havoc. Conroy will play Nathalie, a modern-day ecological martyr. While she seemingly is more connected to nature than most people, her instincts about her fellow humans are dead on. Conroy, known for playing Ruth Fisher on Six Feet Under and an older of the character on the first season of American Horror Story, appears in the Hulu original series Casual. She’s repped by Echo Lake Entertainment and Paradigm Talent Agency.
