Former Invention Studios exec Whitney Berry, née Thomas, has joined Bungalow|Storied Media Group as SVP Development and Production.

In her new role, Berry will develop and sell projects for new client NPR as well as oversee development for the company. Todd Hoffman and Dennis Kim’s Bungalow|SMG also reps the New York Times, 60 Minutes, Smithsonian Enterprises, New York magazine, Emmis Publishing, the McClatchy Newspaper Group and The New Republic.

Storied Media Group logo“Dennis and Todd’s production/management company is a stand-alone model in the business,” Berry said. “In 2016, where IP is a key driver for creating content, it’s incredibly exciting to be in business with places like NPR and the New York Times, to name a few.”

In her previous position as head of development and production for Nicky Weinstock’s Invention Studios, Berry oversaw the development slate for both features and television. There, she was responsible for putting together Spitfire at Lionsgate and The Knot franchise at Fox, among others. Before that, Berry was VP Production at 1019 Entertainment and served as an associate producer on X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Berry also worked for Nancy Meyers on The Holiday.

Since its launch two years ago, Bungalow|Storied Media Group has produced five projects: feature The Confirmation; documentary We the People: The Market Basket Effect; unscripted series 36 Hours; scripted half-hour comedy Highston, which was picked up to series by Amazon in December; and drama APB, which was picked up to series by Fox for midseason.
