TNT has teamed with British broadcaster Channel 4 for Foreign Bodies, a comedic drama about a group of young adults venturing across China, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam. The series, originally commissioned by Channel 4 in January for a run on E4, has an eight-episode order. Jamie Campbell & Joel Wilson’s Eleven and Entertainment One are producing the show, scheduled to launch on E4 in early 2017, followed later in the year by its U.S. debut on TNT, with eOne handling worldwide distribution outside the U.K.

Created by actor-writer Tom Basden (Plebs, Peep Show), Foreign Bodies features a cast of mostly young UK, U.S. and Canadian TNT new logoactors, led by Anders Hayward, Ade Oyefeso, Brittney Wilson, Alice Lee and Tim Key. It tells the story of a motley gang of travelers embarking on a three-month trip around Asia. British lads Sean (Oyefeso) and Dylan (Hayward) meet American girls May ( Lee) and Ashley (Wilson) in Beijing and opt to undergo the first leg of their travels together. But they soon find that their journey takes them much further than any of them expected. Key plays Greg, a 38-year-old in denial about his marriage, his business and life in general. Jonathan van Tulleken (Off Season, Movie 43s) will direct the first block of episodes.

Foreign Bodies is a terrific opportunity for TNT to work with eOne, Eleven and E4 on a series that will appeal to young adults not only in the U.S. and the UK but also around the globe,” said Sarah Aubrey, EVP of original programming for TNT. “It’s also a great chance to bring Tom Basden’s unique voice to our stateside viewers.”

TNT also has straight-to-series drama The Alienist, from Paramount TV.
