EXCLUSIVE: Here’s the first look at Rob Spera’s dramedy The Sweet Life which is having its world premiere at next month’s Los Angeles Film Festival’s Limelight section. Chris Messina and Abigail Spencer star as Kenny and Lolita, who are each struggling with their own brand of demons. They first meet by chance in Chicago and make a pact to travel across country to the Golden Gate Bridge to commit suicide. That plan becomes complicated when they fall in love along the way. (From the looks of the exchange in the clip above, falling in love isn’t the only complication they encounter.)

Julie Lynn and Bonnie Curtis are producing the movie, which is being sold by Preferred Content at the fest. Jared Rappaport penned the screenplay and the pic bows June 7 at the ArcLight Culver City — the fest recently added a second public screening June 8 because of demand. Tyson Ritter, Maggie Siff and JD Evermore co-star.

The LA Film Festival runs June 1-9.
