As The Big Bang Theory is heading into its 10th season, the show will get a special recognition at CBS’ upfront presentation. I hear the cast of the network’s flagship comedy will get to the stage at Carnegie Hall on Wednesday for a skit. Details are being kept under wraps, but I hear everyone from the cast will be attending except for Kunal Nayyar, who is doing a play in London. Different configurations of cast members from the show have attended the CBS upfront party through the yours (above is the group from 2011), and Mayim Bialik appeared as her character Amy in the presentation a couple of years ago. But this is said to be a bigger thing.
It is expected to be among the highlights of CBS’ presentation, which will showcase the network’s 2016-2017 schedule. Among the questions that the schedule will answer: Will Kevin James return to his old Monday 8 PM turf where his previous CBS sitcom, The King Of Queens, spent most of its run? CBS has eight new and returning comedy series for next season, so it will likely expand beyond its current two-hour Thursday comedy block.
That Thursday block was launched in 2010 with the move of The Big Bang Theory to anchor it at 8 PM. Here is a throwback to upfronts 2010 when the network announced the scheduling move and my story, Is ‘The Big Bang Theory’ the Next ‘Friends’?
And one more question for the presentation: Will CBS showcase late-night host James Corden’ viral hit Carpool Karaoke? Who wouldn’t want to see Carpool Karaoke with Les Moonves?
