Tegna Media said today that its syndicated daytime talk show T.D. Jakes will premiere September 12 in more than 50 U.S. markets. The chatfest, which got a test run last summer, is cleared in more than 40 percent of the country.

The show features Dallas pastor and businessman T.D. Jakes, who boasts a 30,000-member church. Filmed before a live studio audience in Los Angeles, T.D. Jakes will tackle “socially relevant topics in the news” and feature personal stories and honest conversations with celebrity and non-celebrity guests. It will air weekdays in afternoon time periods on 30 Tegna stations in the U.S. along with other markets including Chicago, Orlando, Detroit and San Diego.

“It’s a thrill and a great honor to begin this new journey with such powerhouse media partners as Tegna Media, 44 Blue Productions and enLight Productions,” Jakes said. “I’m grateful for this exciting opportunity to bring meaningful, thought provoking content to audiences across the country.”

Stephanie Noonan Drachkovitch is executive producing along with Jakes, Derrick M. Williams and Adriane Hopper Williams. Stephanie Eno is Executive in Charge of Production.
