Bron Studios has come aboard to co-produce and finance Tully. This is the motherhood-themed movie Deadline first broke last month that will be a reteam of director Jason Reitman, screenwriter Diablo Cody and star Charlize Theron who worked together on 2011’s Young Adult.
The new comedy centers on Marlo (Theron), a mother of three including a newborn, who is gifted a night nanny by her brother. Hesitant to the extravagance at first, Marlo comes to form a unique bond with the thoughtful, surprising and sometimes challenging young nanny named Tully.
Sierra/Affinity has also come on board and will launch international sales at the Cannes Film Festival market starting next week in what surely will be a hot project. WME Global brokered the deal and will rep domestic rights; Reitman, Cody and Theron are all WME-repped. The film is set to start production in late summer in Vancouver.
Bron’s Aaron L Gilbert is producing with Right of Way Productions’ Reitman and Helen Estabrook; Cody and Mason Novick; and Theron, AJ Dix and Beth Kono via their Denver & Delilah Productions; in association with Creative Wealth Media Finance. The latter’s Jason Cloth serves as executive producer.
