CBS Limitless, the only existing broadcast series whose fate was not determined by the upfronts, will not be getting a second season. Showrunner Craig Sweeny tweeted the news:

CBS TV Studios had been quietly shopping the series when it became clear that the show likely was not going to be renewed by CBS, with Netflix among those rumored as a possibility, but that clearly did not lead to anything.

“Right now we are in discussions with other buyers,” CBS Entertainment president Glenn Geller said when asked the question of Limitless’ fate was raised at the network’s upfront breakfast last Wednesday. Asked whether that means the show would go to another network, he said, “Potentially yes.”

Limitless was based on the 2011 movie, with the film’s star Bradley Cooper serving as executive producer and recurring guest star, reprising his role. Alex Kurtzman and Bob Orci executive produced.
