Key Brand Entertainment, a global powerhouse that develops, produces and markets live theater through Broadway Across America, Group Sales Box Office and several other companies, has renamed itself The John Gore Organization, Inc.

Since Gore, a Tony Award-winning British producer, purchased the company from Live Nation in 2008, revenues have grown from $100 million in 2008 to $600 million in 2016. He now becomes chairman and CEO. Lauren Reid will assume corporate responsibilities as the organization’s COO. At the same time, the company has established the John Gore Foundation, primarily to support developing theater artists.

Other key players in the company include former Disney Theatricals chief and current independent producer Peter Schneider, who is chairman of the JGO board of directors. And 2016 Tony Honors winner Miles Wilkin, who is vice-chairman.

“Since acquiring 100% ownership it felt like the right time to make this brand change,” Gore said in the announcement. “Now I can continue to walk in the footsteps of giants by becoming a family company like Nederlander or Jujamcyn and establishing a dedicated charitable foundation like the Shubert Organization. This way I can share the huge success of the company with future generations.”

The newly named company includes Broadway Across America, Broadway.com, The Broadway Channel, BroadwayBox.com and Group Sales Box Office. Its productions span Broadway, off-Broadway, the West End, Japan and China. It presents shows in 40 North American markets. The company sells more than 7 million tickets a year.

The launch of The John Gore Foundation, the company said, “is part of The John Gore Organization’s larger and dedicated corporate social responsibility program, providing graduate theater students who otherwise are unable to afford tuition the opportunity to complete their studies. The Foundation will also look to support other theater related needs on a case by case basis.”

Gore is a seven-time Tony-winning and Emmy-nominated British producer. Prior to forming the John Gore Organization as a director Gore created the only stage adaptations of Batman and Star Trek as well as producing the record-breaking Thunderbirds FAB and Wallace & Gromit on stage in the West End. Investments he acquired in the original London productions of Cats, The Phantom Of The Opera and Wicked have chiefly provided the capital behind the company.
