Jimmy Kimmel will continue as ABC’s late-night host through at least fall 2019 with a three-year contact extension. ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey just made the announcement at the network’s upfront presentation before introducing Kimmel for his signature blistering routine.
Jimmy Kimmel Live! is currently in its 14th season, making Kimmel the longest-running host on broadcast. During its run, Jimmy Kimmel Live! has been nominated for four Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Variety Series.
This fall, Kimmel will also return to host the Primetime Emmy Awards on ABC, on September 18.
Fueled by “Mean Tweets,” “Lie Witness News,” and “I Told My Kids I Ate All Their Halloween Candy,” Jimmy Kimmel Live! has amassed 4.5 billion views on YouTube, with over 7.7 million subscribers to their channel.
