IFC Midnight has acquired North American and Latin American rights to I Am Not A Serial Killer, the Billy O’Brien-directed chiller written by O’Brien and Christopher Hyde based on Dan Wells’ novel. Max Records, Christopher Lloyd, Laura Fraser and Karl Geary star in the pic, which bowed this year at SXSW.

The takes place in a small Midwestern town where a troubled teen (Records) with homicidal tendencies must hunt down and destroy a supernatural killer whilst keeping his own inner demons at bay. Deadline showed you the first clip of the pic ahead of its SXSW premiere in the fest’s Narrative Spotlight section.

Nick Ryan, James Harris and Mark Lane produced and Wayne Marc Godfrey, Robert Jones, James Atherton, Jan Pace, John McDonnell, Rory Gilmartin, O’Brien, Avril Daly, Ruairi Robinson, Robbie Ryan, Bertrand Faivre, Ruth Kenley-Letts and Afolabi Kuti exec produced. Bord Scannan na hEireann/The Irish Film Board, Quickfire Films and The Fyzz Facility financed the pic, produced by Floodland Pictures and The Tea Shop & Film Company.

The deal was negotiated by Andrew Orr and Nada Cirjanic of Independent Film Company on behalf of the filmmakers.
