The diagnosis for new NBC medical drama Heartbeat was pretty gloomy from the beginning, and now it has flatlined. The show, originally picked up for fall after The Voice, was pushed because of star Melissa George’s pregnancy. It still got a preview behind The Voice, but it did not do very well, drawing a 1.4 adults 18-49 rating. The numbers got worse when the medical show moved to its permanent Wednesday 8 PM slot, where it performed below the show it replaced, The Mysteries of Laura.

Laura is one of only two current NBC series still in contention for next season, along with comedy The Carmichael Show.
