Comedy Central’s turn-of-the-century historical and satirical scripted series Another Period has gotten an early third season renewal, ahead of its Season 2 premiere on June 15.

Another Period tells the story Image (1) comedycentrallogo1-275x218.jpg for post 292958of the Bellacourt sisters, Lillian and Beatrice (played by the show’s co-creators/writers/exec producers Natasha Leggero and Riki Lindhome), who are defined by their family’s wealth and care only about becoming super famous – which is a lot harder in 1902. Before others claimed their fame, they were the one American family who epitomized all that was spoiled, shameless and stupid – with more servants than relatives and days filled with money, sex, drugs…and more money. Cast also includes Michael Ian Black, Paget Brewster, Beth Dover, Lauren Flans, Brett Gelman, Christina Hendricks, Alice Hunter, Brian Huskey, David Koechner, Jason Ritter, David Wain and Armen Weitzman.

“I was raised to understand it’s not polite to talk about periods, so I’ll leave it at that,” said Alterman.

Season 2 picks up with Lillian and Beatrice seeking advice on how to rebrand, attempting to divorce their gay husbands, pursuing new male suitors, fighting infectious diseases and, of course, still trying to become famous. Servants from downstairs head upstairs, sex is attempted to be had for pleasure, political scandals play out, and illustrious characters from our nation’s past – such as Albert Einstein, Teddy and Eleanor Roosevelt and Harriet Tubman – pay visit to Newport’s first family. Season 2 guest stars include Jermaine Clement, Andrew Daly, Cedric the Entertainer, Perez Hilton, Moshe Kasher, Lauren Lapkus, Bobby Lee, Tom Lennon, Samm Levine, Aasif Mandvi, Kate Miccuci, Adam Pally, Missi Pyle, Andrew Rannells, June Diane Raphael, Will Sasso, and Joss Whedon.

“We’d like to thank Comedy Central for this continued opportunity to dress like queens and act like assholes,” said Leggero and Lindhome.

On Tuesday, June 14, the day before the Season 2 linear premiere, a virtual reality video of dinner with the Bellacourts will be available through the Comedy Central and Another Period Facebook pages. Throughout Season 2, Comedy Central’s Discover channel on Snapchat will house custom Another Period content created for the platform. New clips, episodes, memes and gifs also will be available on cc.com/anotherperiod and on the show’s Facebook and Twitter accounts. The entire first season will be available on the Comedy Central app and cc.com on June 8. Season 2 episodes are available same day as air.

Jeremy Konner directs and executive produces with Leggero, Lindhome and Red Hour’s Ben Stiller, Debbie Liebling, Stuart Cornfeld and Mike Rosenstein. Check out the promo below.
