Emmy-winning director Adam Bernstein (30 Rock) is set to direct the premiere episode of Spike’s straight-to-series dram The Mist, based on the Stephen King novella.

The Mist, fromAdam Bernstein TWC-Dimension Television, goes into production this summer for premiere in 2017.

The 10-episode series tells a harrowing story about a seemingly innocuous mist that seeps into a small town and creates immense havoc. It is written and executive produced by Christian Torpe, creator of the hit Danish drama Rita, now finishing its fourth season.

Spike 2016 logoBernstein directed the pilots for Fargo, 30 Rock, and Scrubs. Other credits include Better Call Saul, Breaking Bad, Californication, Shameless, Bored to Death, Oz, Homicide: Life on the Street, and Entourage. In 2006, he shared a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series for 30 Rock.

Bernstein also directed several music videos including “Love Shack” for the B-52s, “Hey Ladies” for the Beastie Boys, and “Baby Got Back” for Sir Mix-A-Lot. In addition, he helmed The Adventures of Pete and Pete for Spike’s sister-channel, Nickelodeon. He’s repped by ICM Partners.
