UPDATED with UCP lifting requirement that applicants know someone at the studio, adds link for submission release form:

Do you have an amazing idea for the next big TV show? We know you do, and now you have someone who will listen. Universal Cable Productions has set its first pitch fest on April 28 for storytellers who have ideas for a scripted television show but don’t have access to development executives.

“We’re taking a fresh approach as we mine for new talent and incubate ideas,” said Dawn Olmstead, EVP Development at UCP. “It’s a great opportunity to engage with novice storytellers and give them an entry point to bring their projects to life.”

In order to be eligible, applicants must complete a submission release form (click here). Selected entries will be contacted for a 10-minute pitch meeting with Olmstead and her team, who have been behind the development of such series as Mr. Robot, The Magicians, Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce and Difficult People.
