EXCLUSIVE: Lucy Boynton, the aspiring model in Raphina John Carney’s Sundance buzz title Sing Street, has joined the cast of the J.D. Salinger biopic Rebel in the Rye. The biopic from Empire co-creator Danny Strong follows the author as he prepares to write his classic novel The Catcher in the Rye. Nicholas Hoult plays Salinger, and Kevin Spacey also stars along with Zoey Deutch, Laura Dern, Brian D’Arcy James and Hope Davis.

Boynton, who broke out as the young Beatrix Potter in 2006’s Miss Potter, is next up in a pair of horror pics: Osgood Perkins’ The Blackcoat’s Daughter with Emma Roberts and Kiernan Shipka and Don’t Knock Twice alongside Katee Sackhoff and Nick Moran. She also just wrapped filming Let Me Go starring Juliet Stevenson and Johdi May. The Weinstein Company’s Sing Street bows April 15 in the U.S.

She is repped by Innovative Artists and United Agents in the UK.
