The Little Big Shots are headed to Europe. Warner Bros International Television Production has set the first two international local production sales for the unscripted comedy/variety series that’s been a big hit for NBC. ITV has ordered a British version straight to series which will be produced by Wall to Wall, the WB company that produces The Voice UK. Mediaset is also set to create a local-language version of the show in Spain which will be made by WBITVP.

Little Big Shots debuted on NBC last month and was the most-watched alternative show launch on American television in more than six years. Executive produced by Ellen DeGeneres along with Steve Harvey, who serves as host, the U.S. version ranks as the No. 1 new series of any kind (scripted or unscripted) among total viewers on any network during the 2015–16 TV season to date. It only took two episodes for NBC to give it a 13-episode second season.

The talent competition showcases young musicians, singers, dancers and every form of wunderkind in the world who delight viewers with their performances. It may be that new shiny floor show that folks have been on the hunt for in the past few years. It’s also part of a trend towards what some execs on the ground in Cannes refer to as “kiddification” — think MasterChef Junior and Spelling Star which is expected to be another hot title here.

Mike Darnell, President, Warner Bros Unscripted and Alternative Television, says, “Little Big Shots is that rare show that has become an instantaneous hit and a true phenomenon in the U.S. I am incredibly excited that ITV has commissioned the show in the United Kingdom. With their amazing roster of the biggest shiny floor productions in the country, they are truly the perfect home.”

Wall to Wall’s CEO Leanne Klein and Head of Entertainment Andy Rowe are overseeing the UK production.
