Downton Abbey alumna Lesley Nicol has joined the cast of ABC’s new thriller drama series The Catch, from Shonda Rhimes’ Shondaland, as a recurring. No details, other than it’s a substantial role.

Executive produced by Rhimes, Betsy Beers and showrunner Allan Heinberg, The Catch centers on Alice Vaughan (Mireille Enos), a strong-willed forensics accountant who will stop at nothing to get to the truth.

Nicol played the cook Mrs. Patmore on PBS’ Downton Abbey, which recently ended its six-season run. Her other recent TV credits include Goldie and Bear, Inspector George Gently and Supernatural. She also was the voice of Pilgrim Woman in feature Free Birds. She’s repped by Paradigm in the U.S. and London Theatrical in the UK.
