Idris Elba is adding another thread to his resumé with documentary Cut From A Different Cloth. From Woodcut Media and Elba’s Green Door Pictures, the one-hour project focuses on Superdry founders Julian Dunkerton and James Holder as they team with Elba to launch their first premium fashion line. Already boasting a retail business worth £1.2B, Superdry has conquered the UK and Europe, and is setting its sights on America and China. The observational film provides a glimpse into the world of a successful entrepreneur (Dunkerton), his perfectionist designer (Holder), their billion pound empire and their new partner in crime (Elba), as together they attempt to confound the critics and beat the competition. This will be the first time Superdry has launched a line so quickly, looking to appeal to a completely different customer. It’s also a first for multi-hyphenate Elba, who has never done anything in the fashion industry. Executive producers are Woodcut Media’s Derren Lawford and Nicholas Yearwood of Green Door Pictures. Woodcut and Green Door are co-financing with Content Media on sales.
