The Geffen Playhouse will have to update its playbill. The UCLA-adjacent theater said today that it has hired Jessica Buzzard as director of marketing. She’s spent the past 12 years at Sundance Institute.
Buzzard will lead the venue’s marketing strategy to engage and expand its current audiences by capitalizing on the Geffen’s mission to develop and support new work. She also will help promote ongoing Spotlight productions featuring the wide variety of artists who come to the Geffen stage every season.
“Jessica has the perfect combination of experience, intelligence and love for theater to help lead our marketing efforts moving forward,” said Executive Director Gil Cates Jr., to whom she will report. “As we continue to present new, challenging work and put greater emphasis on digital and online marketing and branding, we couldn’t be more excited to have Jessica join the Geffen Playhouse family.”
