The South By Southwest Film Festival announced the audience award winners for 2016 today. Leading the pack in the Narrative Feature category is Transpecos, director Greg Kwedar’s debut feature starring Gabriel Luna, Johnny Simmons and Clifton Collins Jr. as border patrol agents embroiled in the region’s drug trade. Taking the prize in the Documentary Feature category is Keith Maitland’s Tower, which examines the infamous 1966 sniper shootings at the University of Texas. Other winners include Jean-Marc Vallee’s Demolition, which won in the Headliner’s spot, Mr. Gaga, which took home the Documentary Spotlight award, and the Midnighters winner I Am a Hero from director Shinsuke Sato.
