Season 2 of Scream, MTV and Dimension TV’s series adaptation of the hit teen movie franchise, will premiere at 10 PM May 31, with new roles, new cast and previously announced new showrunners Michael Gans and Richard Register. Production is underway in New Orleans.

Joining the Season 2 Scream Season 2cast are recording artist Kiana Ledé, Santiago Segura (47 Meters Down, Silicon Valley ), Anthony Ruivivar (Banshee, American Horror Story), Austin Highsmith (Murder in the First, Criminal Minds), Sean Grandillo (Spring Awakening) and Karina Logue (Ray Donovan, Bates Motel). They join returning cast members Willa Fitzgerald (Emma), John Karna (Noah), Tom Maden (Jake), Tracy Middendorf (Maggie), Amadeus Serafini (Kieran), Bex Taylor-Klaus (Audrey), and Carlson Young (Brooke).

Season 2 picks up with Emma’s return to Lakewood after several months at a retreat, where she tried to recover from the horrors of last season. Everyone is walking on eggshells around her, questioning whether she has truly gotten over the Killer’s crimes. Meanwhile, Audrey is hiding her connection to the Killer, but is getting harassed by someone who knows the truth. Brooke and Jake are also keeping secrets — they are hiding a budding romance from Mayor Maddox. And, Noah is getting closer and closer to the truth about the Season 1 murders.

Ledé will play Zoe, a fellow high school student, a driven overachiever who harbors a secret.

Segura is Gustavo Acosta, a dark and brooding high school student. An outsider, observing from the sidelines, he’s a skilled artist who’s deeply into horror, serial killers and comic books.

Ruivivar will recur as Sheriff Michael Acosta. An outspoken, competent and experienced cop, he returns to Lakewood, where he grew up. He is a devoted, if sometimes strict, family man who’s very protective of his son,

Highsmith will recur as Karen Lang, a young, idealistic high school psychology teacher who becomes a confidante and mentor to her students.

Grandillo will recur as Eli, Kiernan’s cousin. He presents as squeaky clean image, but may have ulterior motives.

Logue recurs as Tina Hudson. She’s proper and polite, but with a grifter’s sense of self-reliance.

Gans and Register serve as EPs and showrunners along with EP’s Harvey and Bob Weinstein under the Dimension TV production umbrella. Wes Craven, Tony DiSanto, Liz Gateley, Marianne Maddalena and Cathy Konrad also exec produce. Matthew Signer & Keith Levine are producers.
