NBC said today that its new variety show Maya and Marty in Manhattan, starring Maya Rudolph and Martin Short, will premiere at 10 PM Tuesday, May 31, following the two-hour premiere of hit summer reality series America’s Got Talent.
In addition, Saturday Night Live’s Kenan Thompson has joined the series, which will air each week from NBC’s headquarters at 30 Rockefeller Center in New York. The show will feature sketches that spoof current events, celebrities and topical trends, as well as musical performances.
Maya and Marty in Manhattan will be executive produced by Lorne Michaels. Matt Roberts, Erin David, Dave Becky, Marc Gurvitz, Sandy Wernick and John Lieberman will produce along with Rudolph and Short.
