Keanu Reeves has joined Marti Noxon’s feature directorial debut To The Bone based on the filmmaker/TV series creator’s own personal experience with anorexia.

Reeves will play Dr. William Beckham, the doctor with an unorthodox style who pushes Ellen (played by Lily Collins) to choose life and commit to getting better.

Julie Lynn and Bonnie Curtis of Mockingbird Pictures are producing along with Karina Miller, who is financing through her label Sparkhouse Media. Miller heads Sparkhouse with her husband and financier, Talal AlAbbar. To The Bone is the first picture announced from Sparkhouse. Cameras roll the end of March in Los Angeles.

Upcoming for Reeves is Nicolas Winding Refn’s The Neon Demon, Lionsgate’s John Wick 2 on Feb. 10 and courtroom drama The Whole Truth opposite Renée Zellweger.

Noxon is the co-creator and EP behind Lifetime’s UnReal. She is also the creator and EP of Bravo’s Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce, and directed its season finale this year.  She recently adapted the Gillian Flynn bestseller Sharp Objects with Amy Adams attached to star.  Noxon also has an exclusive deal with Skydance Media where she is developing TV projects, including a series based on Sarai Walker’s bestselling novel Dietland.

Reeves is repped by CAA and Ziffren Brittenham. Noxon is repped by WME, and Hansen Jacobson.
