Featuring the second visit by Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton, ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live matched its strongest Thursday telecast in households since an NBA Finals-led telecast in June, posting a 2.5/6 in the 56 Metered Markets. Excluding the one NBA Finals-led telecast, JKL tied its highest-rated Thursday telecast in households since President Obama’s visit a year ago on March 12, 2015. Overall, Clinton’s appearance tied JKL’s highest-rated late-night telecast on any night in eight months. In her second election-cycle visit, Clinton talked pot, SCOTUS, political sexism and Donald Trump (“I look forward to debating him and trying to figure out where he stands on issues”).
In the 18-49 demo, last night’s broadcast, with two Clinton segments in addition to Peter Krause and Fifth Harmony, was flat week to week (0.6 vs 0.6), which is not unusual given that political guests tend to play best with viewers aged 50 years and older.
