With the Democratic nomination looking a near certainty for Hillary Clinton now, George Clooney and wife Amal are rolling out their own red carpet for the former Secretary of State with big bucks fundraisers in L.A. and San Francisco next month. At $33,400 a ticket for the top tier, the April 16 Tinseltown soiree will be co-hosted by long-time deep pocket supporters Jeffrey and Marilyn Katzenberg, Steven Spielberg and Kate Capshaw, and Haim and Cheryl Saban with more big names to be added soon, sources say.
In town on March 24 for a series of fundraisers and an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Clinton could see a much needed windfall from the Clooney events, which Deadline anticipated earlier this month. Spearheaded with a no-donation-necessary contest to hang with the ex-FLOTUS, the Oscar winner’s events probably won’t match the record breaking $15 million that Clooney helped raise at an event at his Hollywood home for President Barack Obama in May 2012, but it will be up there with good old dose of primary season dough.
The Clooney events will be Clinton’s ninth swoop out to Cali for a fundraising swing since formally announcing her POTUS candidacy last spring. And you know, to quote Arnold, she’ll be back.
