Deadline's The Contenders Emmys Event Reaches Capacity

Deadline’s first-ever The Contenders Emmys event is at capacity, a feat accomplished in just a week since invites went out to Emmy voters, key guild members and industry executives. The sequel to our popular Oscar-season event, which just celebrated its fifth year in November, will feature 35 shows presented by 18 studios and networks with more than 70 key creative participants appearing on stage at the DGA Theater for the all-day event set for April 10.

When voters arrive bright and early at the DGA, after a breakfast and right at 9 AM we kick it off with a presentation from HBO with Bryan Cranston, Anthony Mackie and Jay Roach talking about the movie version of All The Way, followed by a discussion with Emmy statuettesthe Confirmation team including star Kerry Washington who stars as Anita Hill and also is an executive producer. The morning continues with 14 more major shows featuring actors, showrunners, executive producers, directors and writers.

After a break for lunch, voters are back for a lineup of 20 more shows, starting with NBC/Universal Television featuring America Ferrera, Jerrod Carmichael and Eva Longoria among others. The afternoon will be a marathon of clips, conversations and talent all ending with Hulu showcasing three series featuring panels including scheduled participation by JJ Abrams (11.22.63)Jason Reitman (Casual), and the cast and creators of The Path. We also will raffle off prizes between panels, topped by with a hotel stay at the Four Seasons resort in Maui.

In addition to HBO, NBC/Universal and Hulu, the lineup features presentations by Netflix, TBS, CBS Television Studios, Showtime, Starz, AMC, A+E Networks, Sony Pictures Television, Warner Bros. Television, ABC, Amazon Studios, PBS, Direct TV’s Audience Network,  Comedy Central and Carnival/Masterpiece, the latter featuring a panel on the final season of Downton Abbey.  Panels will be moderated by Deadline’s Dominic Patten, Pete Hammond, Nellie Andreeva and TVLine’s Michael Ausiello.
