Comedy writer Chris Harris has extended his overall deal with CBS Television Studios through 2019. Under the pact, Harris will serve as executive producer and showrunner on the studio CBS pilot, The Great Indoors. Additionally, he will develop new projects for network, cable, and streaming services.

The multi-camera The Great Indoors, written and executive produced by Mike Gibbons, stars Community‘s Joel McHale as Joel, an adventure reporter who must adapt to the times when he becomes the boss to a group of millennials in the digital department of the magazine.
Harris previously worked as an executive producer on long-running CBS comedy series How I Met Your Mother and as a writer on the network’s Late Show with David Letterman, sharing a total of five Emmy nominations with the teams of the two shows. At CBS TV Studios, he recently consulted on The Millers and Angel From Hell. Harris is repped by CAA, 3 Arts, and attorney Jared Levine.
