Naomi Watts

I have learned that Naomi Watts is the latest big name to join David Lynch’s upcoming new installment of his grounTom Sizemoredbreaking 1990 supernatural mystery series Twin Peaks. No one is commenting, but I’ve learned that also joining the follow-up series for Showtime is Tom Sizemore. Additionally, Lynch, who is directing the new Twin Peaks installment from a script he co-wrote with fellow Twin Peaks co-creator Mark Frost, is rumored to be reprising his recurring role from the original series as FBI Regional Bureau Chief Gordon Cole.

david lynch twin peaksWe reported in October that Lynch had reached out to Watts, who got her break in his Mulholland Drive. She and Sizemore are joining other big-name new Twin Peaks additions including Laura Dern, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Amanda Seyfried.

Star Kyle MacLachlan is the only cast member confirmed for the new Twin Peaks season, set to premiere in early 2017. Other original cast members said to be back include Sherilyn Fenn, Miguel Ferrer and Sheryl Lee.

Watts is with CAA, Sizemore is with Primary Wave’s Ben Press and Polimedia Management.

Anything with Sizemore count me in.

Tom Sizemore’s screen presence is great but he hasn’t been anything good since his canceled TV series Robbery Homicide Division. He can turn in great performances still but just isn’t getting good material.

That’s why I’m extra hopeful for this Twin Peaks revivial. He should have something worthy of his talent.

Umm…because Sizemore succumbed to drugs a long time ago….he’s lucky anyone will hire him with all of the people he owes money to.

Can we be honest with ourselves? Only the first season was good. T

Part of the second season was every bit as good as the first. The dividing line was the end of episode #17 (if you count the pilot as #1)

I really enjoyed the Windom Earle storyline. The series was getting back on track at the end of the second season and then it was canceled. Man, the third season is going to blow our minds if the cast is anything to go by.

Last year I rewatched the entire series, one episode a day, lined up with the dates that they were set. (I’m a fan, that’s what we do…) The second season slump really only lasts about five to six episodes and once the Windom Earle story line kicks in, the show recovers fairly well.

I don’t think there will be a Twin Peaks: Portland like the CSIL&ONCIS franchises. LOL
