Visual effects wizard Mike Chambers has been reelected chairman of the board of the Visual Effects Society, the 3,100-member honorary society dedicated to advancing the craft’s arts and sciences around the world. Chambers was the visual effects producer for The Dark Knight Rises, Inception, Transcendence, The Day After Tomorrow and on Disney’s recently completed Alice Through The Looking Glass.

Also elected to the organization’s executive committee were first vice chair Jeffrey Okun, whose credits include Blood Diamond, Stargate, Sphere and Red Planet; second vice chair Nancy St. John, whose credits include Men In Black 3, Total Recall, Resident Evil and the upcoming Ghostbusters re-make; treasurer Susan Thurmond O’Neal, former head of production at R!OT Pictures; and secretary Rita Cahill, a partner in MakeBelieve Entertainment.
