EXCLUSIVE: LA-based Level 33 Entertainment is planning a theatrical and on-demand release in the second half of 2016 for The Beat Beneath My Feet. The British film ran in last year’s Berlin Film Festival Generation section. Level 33 acquired North American rights in conjunction with SSS Entertainment.

Luke Perry stars with newcomer Nicholas Galitzine in the tale of a teenage boy who discovers that his unruly neighbor is really a disgraced rock god who “died” eight years prior and owing a fortune in unpaid tax. The boy agrees not to reveal his secret on the condition that he teaches him the dark arts of rock guitar.

Michael Mueller penned the script for music videos director John Williams (Radiohead, Coldplay). Producers are Fiona Gillies, Mueller and Raj Sharma of UK-based Scoop Films.

Scoop Films is currently in production with After Louise from directors Danny and David Scheinmann and penned by Mueller. Carlos Rincon of Spotlight Pictures negotiated the deal on behalf of the producers.
