Originally scheduled to air in December, Crown Media Family Networks has moved up the premiere of Karen Kingsbury’s The Bridge Part 2 to March 20. The conclusion of the two-part movie will air at 9 PM on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, following a special encore airing of Part 1 at 7 PM. Part 2 will air again on Sunday, March 27, at 7 PM on Hallmark Channel. Additionally, pre-production is underway for the movie adaptation of Karen Kingsbury’s A Time To Dance, the first novel in her Timeless Love series, scheduled to premiere this year.
Fast-tracking the Part 2 premiere was due to “the exceptional viewer engagement and response” for the premiere of The Bridge Part 1 on Hallmark Channel two months ago, says CMFN.
Karen Kingsbury’s The Bridge tells the tale of Molly Callens (Katie Findlay) and Ryan Kelly (Wyatt Nash), young students who share a profound friendship their first semester in college, a time that becomes the defining moment of their lives. The first half of the movie concluded with Molly and Ryan’s relationship being in question with their separate expectations for their futures – Molly following in her father’s footsteps as CEO of a large corporation and Ryan pursuing his dreams of being a professional singer. The second half of the movie picks up in the present, seven years later, with Ryan returning home from being on the road touring as a singer and Molly working at her father’s corporation. Ted McGinley and Faith Ford also star.
Kingsbury’s The Baxter Family novel series also was recently acquired by Roma Downey and LightWorkers Media for series development. Kingsbury is repped by Alive Literary Agency.
