HBO has released the first block of images from the upcoming sixth season of Game Of Thrones, set to premiere April 24. But before you ask, no there’s not a single shot of Jon Snow. More important, there isn’t anything by way of actual reveals in this set of pics, though they do confirm mainly that the returning and new guest stars announced over the past year will, indeed, appear in season 6.
That doesn’t mean there aren’t some decent highlights, however. Isaac Hempstead Wright as a very grown-up Bran Stark appears alongside Max von Sydow portraying an anthropomorphic version of the three-eyed crow, confirming that Sydow’s character appears at least in part as some kind of dream-sequence character. We also see that Natalie Dormer’s Margaery Tyrell is still in hot water with the Game of Thrones version of the Inquisition, pretty much where we saw her at the end of Season 5, while Cersie and Jaime Lannister are dealing with the aftermath of the murder of their daughter, Myrcella Baratheon. And plenty more, including the a new look at Patrick Malahide as Balon Greyjoy, king of the Iron Islands, a still-bearded Peter Dinklage, and so on.
But again, still nothing as to the fate of Jon Snow.
