Directed by Stanley Tucci, Final Portrait will begin principal photography on February 15. Joining Geoffrey Rush and Armie Hammer are Tucci’s Big Night co-star Tony Shalhoub, and French actresses Sylvie Testud and Clémence Poésy. The story centers on the relationship between artist Alberto Giacomettii and American writer James Lord. It’s adapted from Lord’s memoir, A Giacometti Portrait. This is Tucci’s fifth time behind the camera with Rush as Giacometti and Hammer as Lord. Shaloub is playing the artist’s brother Diego; Testud is his long suffering wife, and Poésy his muse and lover.
