Erinn Hayes (Children’s Hospital) has been cast as the female lead opposite Kevin James in his multi-camera comedy series at CBS, whose opening episode will be directed by Andy Fickman.

The untitled show, from Sony Pictures TV and CBS TV Studios, centers on newly retired police officer Kevin (James) who looks forward to spending more quality time with his wife and three kids — only to discover he faces much tougher challenges at home than he ever did on the streets.

Hayes will play Donna, Kevin’s wife of twenty years who’s held the family together during her husband’s long career.

James, Reuben and Helford, who co-wrote the comedy, executive produce with Jeff Sussman. Helford is the showrunner.

Hayes comes off 7 seasons of cult comedy series Children’s Hospital. This marks her return to CBS where she co-starred on the single-camera comedy series Worst Week. She is repped by UTA and Sweeney Entertainment.
