Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart, stars of upcoming action comedy Central Intelligence, have been tapped to host the 2016 MTV Movie Awards. The show will be taped Saturday, April 9 at Warner Bros. Studios to air on Sunday, April 10 at 8 PM on MTV.
MTV is also getting fans involved, giving them a chance to write and direct the official 2016 MTV Movie Awards promo campaign with Johnson and Hart via multiple simultaneous livestreams. Tomorrow, beginning at 2 PM ET, the event will broadcast across Facebook Live, YouTube, Periscope, Meerkat and YouNow. Fans will be able to give the hosts direction via comments and tweets using #movieawards. MTV will later utilize the footage for promos airing across linear, digital and social platforms, crediting fans that helped create the content.

Johnson recently starred in summer hit San Andreas and currently stars in Ballers for HBO. Next up is a big screen adaptation of Baywatch, Furious 8 and action based feature Rampage. Johnson’s Seven Bucks Productions, will be releasing a youth prison documentary, A Rock and a Hard Place, for HBO in 2016. Johnson is also developing an LAPD based television project Boost Unit for Fox.
Hart is currently on the road for his What Now Comedy tour. His recent movie projects include Ride Along 2, Screen Gems’ The Wedding Ringer and Warner Bros.’ Get Hard. On the small screen, Hart is executive producer of Real Husbands Of Hollywood.
