This hasn’t been a Comcastic day for many — possibly most — Comcast customers and engineers. The company’s cable TV and Internet services went down today across the country in cities including Philadelphia, Chicago, New York, Washington, Seattle, Denver, and much of Florida beginning this morning.

At 1:22 PM ET the company said that “almost all services” had been restored after a “temporary network interruption that impacted some of our services.”

Reports of outages began to spike at Downdetector.com, which monitors service issues, before 10 AM ET, though it says that Comcast’s problems began around 6:30 AM. Issues included loss of all services to just the loss of some channels.

Comcast isn't taking out enough ads, eh? In NYC we get a Time Warner cable or broadband...

No word yet from the company about what caused the problems, how many households were affected or whether it will offer refunds for the lost hours.

Comcast had 22.3 million video customers at the end of 2015. The company has been increasing its investment in customer service  Last year its pay TV service was tied with Spirit Airlines for having the second-lowest score in surveys conducted by the American Customer Satisfaction Index.
