Happy Endings alumna Casey Wilson is reuniting with the network and studio behind the cult ensemble comedy series. Wilson is set for the lead in ABC’s single-camera comedy pilot Hail Mary, from Sony TV and ABC Studios.

Hail Mary, a half-hour adaptation of the hourlong Austrian series Braunschlag, was written by The McCarthys creator Brian Gallivan and directed by Julie Anne Robinson. It centers on a young small-town mayor named Mary Wolf (Wilson) who has dysfunctional siblings, a dying father, disgruntled citizens, a nearly bankrupt town and the mafia breathing down her neck. Only a miracle can help her. So … she fakes one.

Hail Mary is executive produced by Gallivan, Tariq Jalil of Intrigue and Seth Gordon.

Wilson most recently starred in the NBC comedy series Marry Me, also from Sony TV.
