ABC has given a series order to Big Fan, a half-hour weekly comedic game show from Jimmy Kimmel based on the viral “Who Knows…?” celebrity vs. super-fan game segment on his ABC late-night show Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Hosted by Andy Richter and produced by Kimmel, Big Fan hails from Banijay Studios North America. Each episode of the half-hour, studio-based game show will feature one celebrity and three of his or her biggest super fans. The super fans will go head-to-head to see who knows more about the episode’s featured celebrity. The succeeding super fan will move on to the final round in an ultimate showdown, celebrity vs. super fan, to see who knows most about the celebrity. If the super fan wins, their prize is a priceless experience with the celebrity they admire most.

“This show is a lot of fun,” said Jimmy Kimmel. He added, “Andy Richter is a great host, and I can’t think of a better way to terrify celebrities.”

What celebrities will bother with this? Forced to spend time with an average Joe??

Andy Richter is hosting? I'm into it.

Kimmel’s late-night rival, NBC’s Jimmy Fallon has had a lot of success in turning a segment on his show into a reality series, Lip Sync Battle on Spike.

“Night after night, Jimmy Kimmel Live delivers a slew of great comic bits. There were many to choose from, but “Who Knows…?” featuring Katy Perry stood out as one that could be expanded into a really unique comedic game show concept that gives fans at home a chance to be part of the experience,” said David Goldberg, Banijay Group President and Banijay Studios North America CEO.
