Writer Andy Parker has signed a multi-year overall deal with Universal Cable Productions. He’ll begin work immediately on two soon-to-be-announced projects: one for NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment and another for an external network, said Dawn Olmstead, EVP Development at UCP, who announced the deal.
“Andy is one of the most talented writers in the business and we’re delighted to have him join the UCP family,” said Olmstead. “His provocative and memorable characters and storylines resonate with viewers because they touch on the common struggle of finding one’s place in the world.”
Parker’s projects include the dramedy Stanistan, which was shot as a pilot for USA Network in 2014, and the dark family drama The Disgraces, which was developed at HBO.
“I’m thrilled to have found a home at UCP,” said Parker. “From day one, I’ve been impressed by their willingness to nurture and champion emerging voices.”
Parker is repped by the Gersh Agency, Melinda Jason and Lichter, Grossman, Nichols, Adler & Feldman.
