CBS has picked up one more comedy pilot, The Great Indoors, written and executive produced by Mike Gibbons. The multi-camera project, from CBS TV Studios, centers on an adventure reporter who must adapt to the times when he becomes the boss to a group of millennials in the digital department of the magazine.
This marks the second consecutive CBS pilot order for Gibbons who also wrote and executive produced The Half Of It for the network and CBS TV Studios last year. Gibbons comes from a talk show background, having worked on The Late Late Show with hosts Craig Kilborn, Craig Ferguson and James Corden, among a slew of other programs.
CBS so far has ordered five comedy pilots and one series, the Kevin James project, for next season. All are multi-camera or hybrid. The Great Indoors is the second workplace CBS comedy pilot dealing with a generational clash, joining Superior Donuts.
