On the heels of a strong start for Season 6, Shameless has received another early renewal with a 12-episode seventh-season order.
“Shameless has clearly resonated with audiences as evidenced by their steady growth on Sunday nights over the past 6 years,” said Showtime president of programming Gary Levine.
Season six, whose opener delivered the series’ biggest premiere performance ever across platforms according to Showtime, picks up shortly after last year’s finale, leaving the Gallaghers to prepare for yet another long Chicago winter. The series stars William H. Macy and Emmy Rossum, along with Jeremy Allen White, Ethan Cutkosky, Shanola Hampton, Steve Howey, Emma Kenney, and Cameron Monaghan. Based on the long-running hit U.K. series, Shameless is executive produced by John Wells, Andrew Stearn, Christopher Chulack, Nancy M. Pimental, Davey Holmes, and Krista Vernoff. Wells developed the series for American television. Paul Abbott serves as executive consultant for John Wells Productions and Warner Bros. Television.
