Here’s the first trailer for Money Monster, a monster in its own right when TriStar Pictures won rights to the real-time thriller in 2014. It’s Jodie Foster directing and George Clooney starring as a Jim Cramer-like TV stock wiz Lee Gates, who with his ace producer (Julia Roberts) is held hostage on air by a man (Jack O’Connell) who followed Gates’ advice, lost his money and put his young family in precarious straits. Jamie Linden, Alan DiFiore & Jim Kouf wrote the script. Dominic West, Giancarlo Esposito, and Caitriona Balfe co-star.

Daniel Dubiecki, Lara Alameddine, Clooney and Grant Heslov are producers.

The trailer drops the same day as the new trailer hit for the Clooney-starring Hail, Caesar! from the Coen Brothers — now that would be an interesting double feature. As it is, Money Monster has set a May 13, 2016 release.
