Mark Consuelos (Kingdom) has been tapped for a recurring role on USA Network’s upcoming drama series Queen Of The South.

Based on best-selling book La Reina Del Sur by Arturo Pérez-Reverte, Queen Of The South tells the story of Teresa Mendoza (Alice Braga). When her drug-dealing boyfriend is unexpectedly murdered in Mexico, Teresa is forced to go on the run and seek refuge in America, where she teams with an unlikely figure from her past to bring down the leader of the drug trafficking ring that has her on the run. The series, which hails from Fox 21 Television Studios and Universal Cable Prods., is currently shooting in Dallas for premiere later this year.

Consuelos will play Teo Aljarafe, a lawyer hired by Camila Vargas (Veronica Falcón) to organize financial affairs. Attracted to the life and power that the cartel world brings, Teo will soon realize that he is in too deep with the cartel.

A busy Consuelos, who can currently be seen on DirecTV’s MMA drama Kingdom, also is set for a guest role on Hulu’s Difficult People. He’ll play Joey, a hot guy from New Jersey. On the film side, Consuelos recently wrapped a starring role in the Barry Sonnenfeld-directed Nine Lives, and he also has joined the cast of All We Had, helmed by Katie Holmes in her directorial debut. He’s repped by Management 360 and CAA.
