Kim Basinger has joined the cast of Fifty Shades Darker, the sequel to the Universal franchise based on EL James’ bestselling books. James Foley is directing the second and third installment (Fifty Shades Freed), which are being shot back-to back, with Niall Leonard adapting both screenplays. Basinger is next up in Shane Black’s The Nice Guys with Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling.

Denis O’Hare (American Horror Story: Hotel) has joined the cast of Margaret Betts’ Novitiate, an indie coming-of-age drama in production in Nashville starring Melissa Leo, Dianna Agron and Margaret Qualley. The early 1960s drama centers on Sister Cathleen, who starts to question her Catholic faith as she trains to become a nun. O’Hare, repped by Innovative Artists, will play the Archbishop.
