OWN has ordered eight additional episodes of freshman docuseries Livin’ Lozada and ordered an eight-episode second season of Flex & Shanice.
Both are strong ratings performers for Oprah Winfrey’s cable network. Livin’ Lozada, which debuted July 11, was the highest-rated freshman season ever for an OWN docuseries among women 18-49. The second cycle of Flex & Shanice, which also premiered July 11, was up 22% in women 25-54 versus its premiere cycle. In addition, the recent finales of Flex & Shanice (0.89) and Livin’ Lozada (0.86) on August 29 ranked as the top two unscripted season finales in OWN history among women 25-54.
Livin’ Lozada follows the lives of Evelyn Lozada, of Basketball Wives fame, and her 22-year-old daughter Shanice. The series returns this spring with a new setting. Now that baseball season has ended, Evelyn and her fiancé, LA Dodgers star Carl Crawford, leave the glitz of Hollywood for their offseason home in Arizona. Livin’ Lozada is produced by Shed Media (part of the unscripted/alternative television department at Warner Bros.), with Pam Healey, John Hesling, Lisa Shannon, Russ Heldt and Evelyn Lozada as executive producers.
Flex & Shanice follows the lives of husband and wife duo of actor Flex Alexander (One On One) and Grammy-nominated singer Shanice (“I Love Your Smile”). The series is produced by Lynch-Dyson Entertainment. Executive producers are Jeff Dyson, Vernon Lynch and Robert Caplain.
