There’s a new surgeon in town. Real Husbands Of Hollywood‘s Boris Kodjoe has joined the cast of CBS medical drama Code Black in a recurring role.

Kodjoe will play Dr. Will Campbell, a suave surgeon whose skills and personal charm are outweighed only by his ego. As Dr. Campbell works more closely with the doctors in the ER, tension builds between him and Dr. Neal Hudson (Raza Jaffrey), as they compete to prove who’s the better surgeon. He’ll join series stars Marcia Gay Harden, Bonnie Somerville, Raza Jaffrey, Luis Guzmán, Melanie Chandra, Harry Ford, Benjamin Hollingsworth and William Allen Young.

Kodjoe, who currently appears on BET’s The Real Husbands Of Hollywood, played Damon Carter on drama series Soul Food. He also recently recurred on Fox’s The Last Man On Earth. Last summer, he and his wife Nicole Ari Parker co-hosted daytime talk show The Boris And Nicole Show. His film credits include Resident Evil: Retribution, Resident Evil: Afterlife, Baggage Claim, Love and Basketball, Brown Sugar, Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Family Reunion, The Gospel and Surrogates. Kodjoe made his debut on Broadway in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.
